The rules and regulations to fly a drone in Canada are somewhat similar to that of the US. You must register your drone and get a pilot certificate from the official website of Transport Canada.

• Which weighs between 25 gm and 25 kg.
• 1.9 km away from heliports and 5.6 km away from airports.
• 30 m away from bystanders.
• Below 122 m (400 ft).

• Up to $3,000 for putting people and aircrafts at risk.
• Up to $1,000 for flying an unmarked or unregistered drone, without a valid certificate, and in places where you are not allowed to.

Europe

The EU has adopted several rules and regulations for flying recreational drones. However, these rules are subject to changes and will come into effect from July 2020.
Currently, drones in the “Open category” must be below 25 kg and should be operated below an altitude of 120 m, away from airports and specific zones.

Australia

Australia is yet to make registration mandatory for those flying drones for recreational purposes. Drones weighing more than 250 gm will have to be registered from the myCASA portal; the registration will be valid for 1 year.

You must fly a drone –
• 30 m away from bystanders.
• 5.5 km away from a controlled airspace if it weighs more than 100 g.
• Lower than 120 m (400 ft).

India

In India, you will need to register your drone with the Digital Sky Platform and obtain a UIN (Unique Identification Number) for your drone. Simultaneously, you will have to take permission from the same before each flight.

You must fly a drone –
• Below 200 ft if it is in the micro category, weighing between 250 gm and 2 kg.
• Below 50 ft if is it in the nana category, weighing under 250 gm.
• Away from “No Fly Zones”.
• Which has the following equipment installed –

a. GPS
b. SIM/No Permission, No Takeoff (NPNT) and RF ID
c. Flight controller with flight data logging features.
d. ID number.
e. Anti-collision light.
f. Return to home (RTH) feature.

All the countries mentioned above prohibit flying drone for kids in emergency situations and operations.
Also, you need to know various regulations under the drone flying policy pertaining to the place you are planning to fly. Check if the place is overpopulated, or a restricted zone or near to the airport; then you might have to reconsider your place for flying the drone.

4. Assess the usability
